Process Engineering

Our expertise is based on substantial experience in manufacturing environments, particularly the speciality and fine chemical industry and we have extensive experience in carrying out pressure relief calculations for both reactive and non-reactive systems.

We can also provide support and assistance in process development, technology assessment, flowsheet development, cost estimation, process design, installation supervision and commissioning.

Our experience has primarily been gained with upper tier COMAH sites handling substantial quantities of toxic or flammable substances.

Synsol is geared up to carry out a wide range of process engineering tasks varying from feasibility studies right through to detailed design, and beyond.

We have substantial experience in manufacturing environments and the following is a snapshot of the type of plants and/or processes we have been involved with.

Manufacturing experience

- Halogenation processes (Chlorine, Hydrogen chloride, Sulphuryl chloride, Thionyl chloride, Aluminium chloride).

- Halogenation processes (Bromine, Hydrogen bromide).

- Chlor-Alkali and Chlorine from HCl.

- Monomer and polymer processes - wide range of materials/ products (batch and continuous).

- Speciality chemicals and agrochemicals (Phosgenation processes, biocides, herbicides and pesticides).

- Resins (Phenol/Formaldehyde, Urethanes and Alkyds).

- Personal health products (blending processes).

- Friedel Crafts (Phenones).

- Ester processes.

- Natural Gas storage and handling (Cavity, AGI, Distribution) and Biogas facilities.

- Petrochemical operations (Ethylene, FCC and gas train).

- Food processes (Ammonia refrigeration, sugar plant, flour handling).

- Water treatment and sewage treatment processes.
